The AFA was established to provide alternative and more affordable support to the Franchise Industry. We work with all types of franchise organisations, large and small, and are happy to consider any franchisor for membership, providing they can prove that they identify with and adhere to our core values and principles.

AFA Seal of Approval
In order to become an AFA member and gain our Seal of Approval, we thoroughly inspect the prospective member’s business. We make sure they have been in operation for at least a year, review their prospectus and business model, and interview franchisees directly to ensure they are happy with the level of support they receive. Although we do not offer official guarantees, we do everything possible to ensure that the franchisor meets our expectations.
Our Seal of Approval provides complete peace of mind for prospective franchisees. They will be reassured that the franchisor’s business has been thoroughly scrutinized by an official body that has a thorough understanding of and passion for the Franchise Industry.
All members are listed on the AFA website with their company information, contact details and a link to their own websites. They are spotlighted on our home page on rotation, thereby raising their profile and driving new franchisee and client enquiries. We also offer an enhanced website listing at an additional cost, which provides franchisors with an even more significant presence on our website.
We distribute a monthly newsletter to our extensive database of franchisors and prospective franchisees. Each month, we spotlight one of our members and also post all member news items on our website.
We have an active social media presence on Facebook and Twitter, promoting our members, franchise news and valuable advice and tips for potential franchisees.
Exhibitions and Events
In association with Franchise Now, the AFA organises a series of highly focused, local, franchise shows around the country, at which all members are invited to exhibit. These events offer members a cost-effective way to showcase their businesses, thereby increasing their profiles and attracting new leads.

We’ve teamed up with Induction Junction to offer our members discounted, online courses on various topics that are relevant to the franchise industry. These courses are designed to protect members and ensure they are up to date on compliance issues.
In association with our partner, Franchise UK, the largest directory of franchise opportunities in the UK, AFA members receive a 20% discount for advertising on their site.
We’re always on the end of the phone to provide support and advice to franchisors and potential franchisees. Our plans for the future include regional meetings to bring franchisors together and providing an even more effective support network. We also plan to organise our own Franchise Awards as we grow.
