The AFA Appoints New Business Development Manager to Provide Enhanced Support to Members

As many of you will know, the AFA is currently experiencing phenomenal growth, as more and more business owners turn to us for accreditation and guidance to help their businesses grow via franchising.

With this in mind, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Business Development Manager, Sarah Canny. With a background in sales and customer services, Sarah has a BSc Hons in Psychology and is widely travelled, having lived in both Australia and China.

Upon graduating from University, Sarah worked for Panasonic in a sales role, progressing through the ranks to become a senior team member. She was responsible for dealing with customers and assisting with their sales enquiries, gaining valuable customer services experience.

However, the travel bug bit Sarah again and she decided to leave to see more of the world. She set off for India and from there, travelled to Sri Lanka and Myanmar. Whilst in India, Sarah found a job based in China, teaching English, where she stayed for almost a year, before returning to the UK to embark on her business career. Working in China was incredibly valuable to Sarah, as she gained many new skills and experience of working at an international level.

When the new role of Business Development Manager at the AFA was offered to her, Sarah was very keen to accept it.

“I believe the AFA has fantastic values and has had an amazing journey so far, with a huge increase in membership,” she says, “I am delighted to be joining the AFA at this exciting time, as a team member who is solely dedicated to supporting the growth and development of the Association.”

Sarah’s role will primarily focus on the recruitment of new members to contribute to the further growth of the AFA, and is looking forward to welcoming more ethical franchise businesses as members. In addition to this, she will concentrate on building relationships and maintaining close contact with existing members. This will ensure they are maximising the benefits of their membership and getting the best value for money, as well as being effectively supported on their business journey. Her aim is to create a positive space for members and partners, where they can share their knowledge and the benefit of their experiences with each other.
