AFA Membership is available to franchisors, as well as partners, who provide goods or services to the franchising industry. As a franchisor, you must receive AFA accreditation before membership is offered to your business.

Preliminary Membership

£585/Year

  • Or £50 a month
  • Specifically for new franchisors who are just starting out on their franchise journey. For these franchisors, we carry out the same checks on their business model and gain feedback from existing franchisees. During your first year of trading, the AFA is available to mentor and support you as required. After one year, you will be eligible for full membership, as long as you have a proven and sustainable business model.

  • In order to be accepted for full AFA membership, your business undergoes rigorous checks to ensure that you have been trading for longer than one year and your accounts have been submitted to Companies House. You must also prove that your business is:
  • Sustainable – able to demonstrate a demand for the product or service, along with financial success that can support a franchise network
  • Ethical – needs to abide by the principles documented within the European Code of Ethics for Franchising
  • Transferrable – there must be a system in place to facilitate the exchange of information between the franchisor and franchisee.
  • Full accreditation with use of AFA seal
  • Support network and guidance
  • Presence on the AFA website
  • Opportunities to feature in weekly blog
  • Industry updates and information
  • Social media presence
  • Networking opportunities
  • Access to mediation services

Partner Membership

£985/Year

  • Available to suppliers who work with the franchising industry, thereby promoting a coalition of members, organisations and individuals working together to support the industry as a whole.

  • Opportunities to feature news and special offers in AFA weekly blog
